According to reports earlier this week, Simon Cowell is hoping to sign Nick up to join the judging panel for X Factor's new series, with Grimmy "close to signing" on the dotted line.
And while we wait to hear if Nick's position as judge will be confirmed, Louis has dropped the biggest hint yet that it is more than likely... Interesting!
Irish music mogul Louis has teamed up with O2 to celebrate their 'Big Bundles' for Pay As You Go customers and yesterday, he was busy 'bigging up' the public and his fellow celebrities with personal video messages on Twitter.
And in his video to Nick, Louis sent speculation that the 30-year-old is joining The X Factor into overdrive.
Addressing the DJ, he says: "Hi Nick... so you're a DJ and now you're going to be a judge. Nothing wrong with two jobs!"
Is that Louis confirming Nick's place alongside Simon and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini who are almost certain to be returning this year? Pretty much sounds like it...
Giving Nick some advice for the judging panel, Louis then adds: "I think you should start wearing some better clothes, change your haircut and off you go!"
Louis' comments come after Simon appeared to confirm his exit from The X Factor.
After reports surfaced suggesting Louis had been let go from ITV's singing contest, boss Simon tweeted: "Louis Walsh is one of the good guys. We will always be friends. The door remains open and who knows what's next..."
Louis, meanwhile, is keeping coy when it comes to his X Factor departure.
Denying he has been axed from the show, Louis then suggested he hasn't been re-hired either - leaving us all a little confused as to whether he is really going or not.
Speaking to the Press Association, he said: "I haven't been sacked, I can honestly tell you that, but I'm not hanging around for them this year because I want to go back to being a manager. But I wasn't sacked, I haven't been hired and I'm not hanging around."
If Louis does leave The X Factor, he will be doing so after starring on the show for 11 years.
And he won't be the only one to go as Dermot O'Leary has stepped down as X Factor host after eight years presenting the main show and Sarah-Jane Crawford recently announced she has quit spinoff show The Xtra Factor.
Presenting duo Caroline Flack and Olly Murs have become the new X Factor hosts and the pair were seen in action last weekend as open auditions kicked off in Manchester.
