Louis Walsh has waded into the One Direction drama and pointed his finger at Simon Cowell, saying the music mogul "he's lost control of them".

After that Twitter post from Naughty Boy caused a spat between Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik last week, Louis Walsh now has a few words of advice for Simon.

Speaking to The Mirror, he said: "I would have given them a good b**locking – they would know never to do anything like that, I would probably sack them."

We're not sure Simon will be rushing to sack any of the 1D boys over a few angry words on Twitter, what with them being so hugely successful and loved worldwide…

"You don't air your dirty laundry in public," Louis continued, "Simon made this band. They would be nowhere without Simon Cowell. Let's get that straight. He put them together, he pressed the buttons, he made it happen. Without Simon they'd be nothing."

One Direction put on a united front in first official photo since Zayn Malik's exit - 13 April 2015.

Louis appeared to change his tone slightly, adding: "I think he's lost control of them and that's what happens with bands. They get too big and don't listen to anybody and then it's all over, and then they think 'why didn't we listen?'."

One Direction have been making headlines in the past month after Zayn quit the band after five years.

Claiming he wanted to live life like a "normal 22-year-old", the band said they respected his decision to leave. However, following speculation that Zayn will release solo material with hit producer Naughty Boy, reports have speculated that there is still tension in the group.
