Kim Kardashian West's book tour didn't get off to the best start this week as she was ambushed by animal rights' activists at a New York City signing.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was targeted by protestors while she was signing copies of her selfies book, Selfish, on Tuesday, 5 May.

Onlookers at the Barnes and Noble bookstore said the anti-fur protestors shouted "murderer" and branded her "the most disgusting human being on the planet" for her continued love of wearing real fur.

Kim, 34, initially didn't realise the identity of the protestors, as she said hello to them and thanked them for coming. As they shouted at her, she remained calm – even as someone asked her to make a book out to all the animals who had dyed to make her a fur coat.

The reality star has been targeted by animal rights' activists in the past - she was flour-bombed at a perfume launch three years ago and was criticised earlier this year for dressing her daughter in what appeared to be a real fur coat.
