Kensington Palace momentarily sent royal baby watchers into overdrive this afternoon after sending a tweet about Prince William and Kate Middleton 'introducing their son'.

However, it was actually a nostalgic look at when Kate and Wills welcomed their first son Prince George in July 2013!

The official royal twitter account posted the message alongside a picture of William standing with his arm around Kate as they introduced Prince George to the world.

The tweet read: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge introduce their son Prince George to the world for the 1st time #ThrowbackThursday."

Royal baby fever is well underway as the world wait for Kate and Wills to welcome their second child.

Super fans have been camped outside the Lindo Wing, and parking restrictions outside St Mary's Hospital have been extended into May. The Duchess of Cambridge's due date was mid to late April, and it's widely believed she is now around four days overdue.

Earlier this week, excitement was also sparked when a tweet did the rounds claiming Kate had given birth to a healthy baby girl named Charlotte, however, it was later confirmed to be fake.
