Yesterday, Ferne wished her ex-boyfriend the best of luck ahead of his TV appearance on Sky Sports programme Ringside.
She tweeted: "Good Luck @charlessims_ on #Ringside @SkySportsBoxing excited for you! Boxing is in your blood boy!"
Charlie, who was appearing on the show to give his verdict on the Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao match, replied: "@fernemccann @SkySportsBoxing thanks for the support Ferney! Now we both know what it's like to be on @SkySports."
Charlie's reference to Sky Sports is in relation to Ferne filming with the channel last week to promote the end of the Netball Superleague Season.
The exchange of messages show that the former couple are still on good terms.
In March, Charlie sensationally quit The Only Way Is Essex, with show bosses later confirming that Charlie didn't feel "comfortable sharing his real life on camera".
While announcing his shock exit from the show, Charlie also publicly announced his split from Ferne, with a source telling Reveal that Charlie gave Ferne an ultimatum – him or the show.
Ferne addressed their break-up on TOWIE, saying that she was "in shock". She told Danielle Armstrong and Gemma Collins: "I got dumped on Twitter. I know [it was harsh] and he hasn't even apologised. I'm literally trying to put it to the back of my head."
Despite what appeared to be a shock split, Ferne revealed two weeks ago that the pair are "very amicable".
She said on ITV's Lorraine about her relationship with Charlie: "Not so good, not so on. It's very off. It's a shame, we were together a long time, met when we were very young but yeah no, sadly it has come to an end but we are very amicable.
"We're like good friends and he's not on the show anymore, so..."
Charlie has also addressed his break-up with Ferne, telling reporters at a party that the pair are now on "good terms".
