The Essex star was among the core group who were introduced in the very first episode of the now ITVBe show five years ago. Others included Mark Wright, Lauren Goodger, Jessica Wright, James 'Arg' Argent, Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge.
In her autobiography, Secrets & Lies, which is available now, ex-TOWIE star Sam says she's happy to hold her hand up and say she doesn't the current cast is as good as the originals.
"I don't mind holding my hand up and saying that the original cast were head and shoulders above some of the lot they have on there now," she writes.
"The original point of the show was a warm-hearted and candid look at the real lives of some loveable characters who got themselves into scrapes that were harmless and funny. We all loved each other, came from good homes, liked to party a bit at Sugar Hut, but were well brought up.
"I know I sound like an old woman, but don't they worry about what their family will say when they watch them on screen behaving like that?"
Sam also writes that she thinks the show is more "manipulated" now than back in the early days, adding: "The truth is that, especially since I left, there have been some recent scenes that just felt really uncomfortable to watch."
She chose to leave the series in 2014, partly to work on her relationship with then-boyfriend Joey Essex. Already, Mark, Lauren, Amy and Harry had left, along with Lucy Mecklenburgh.
