According to TMZ, Gwyneth and Chris officially filed divorce documents on Monday 20 April. In the files, actress Gwyneth and singer Chris cite 'irreconcilable differences'.

Their business managers will reportedly discuss details of a settlement agreement, including dividing their property and negotiating custody of 10-year-old Apple and Moses, eight.

It is thought they will split their estimated £194 million fortune equally.

Speaking about their break-up recently, Gwyneth told Marie Claire: "We're very, very close, and it's so nice. I feel like it's, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have."

Meanwhile, last year, Martin told Radio 1: "I wouldn't use the word breakdown. This was more a realisation about trying to grow up basically. Like I said, if you can't open yourself up, you can't appreciate the wonder inside."
