The 22-year-old ex-One Directioner has been in talks with Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha about possibility appearing in an upcoming movie.
Gurinder told The Mirror that she'd had discussions with Zayn, who is a trained actor, although she hadn't come up with a role for him just yet.
"We've met and spoken," she said. "He trained as an actor first and then became part of the band. So I think what he'll be doing is staying true to his heart – and that's all you can ever do."
Now that Zayn is no longer a member of One Direction, he would have time on his hands to dedicate to acting.
He quit the phenomenally successful boyband last month after five years in the spotlight, saying he needed to be a normal 22-year-old again. Though, we guess most 22 year olds haven't been in talks with Hollywood directors about starring in a movie!
Zayn made his first post-1D public appearance over the weekend at the Asian Awards in London, bringing his mum as his date.
While he's getting used to life solo – and reportedly working on new music with Naughty Boy – his former bandmates have insisted they will continue as a foursome.
Earlier this month, the first picture of Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Niall Horan as a quartet was released. They've all said they're looking forward to getting back into the studio.
