After wrapping Glee for good this year, the actress has turned her attentions to making a follow-up to debut album Louder.
Lea shared pictures of herself at the recording studio this week, saying she was "grateful" for the opportunity to be creating music again.
"The past two years since finishing Louder I've experienced so many moments of strength, tears, joy, growth, change and happiness," she told fans on Twitter.
"I'm so excited to put all of that into this next record. I'm so grateful for where I am today, feeling so strong. And nothing makes me happier than singing from my heart. It's the greatest feeling and I'm so beyond excited."
Lea's debut album was released in February 2014 and featured the lead single 'Cannonball'. The album reached number four in the US charts and number 16 in the UK. She played Rachel Berry in musical comedy Glee, which came to an end in March after six series on air.
