Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall has said a third SATC movie "would be great".

Kim joins Graham Norton on the sofa on his BBC One chat show, which will air tonight, and she gets asked the famous question everybody has been asking ever since the second film wrapped up in 2010.

Will fans get to see Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) together again on the big screen?

"I really don't know. I have no idea," Kim tells Graham. "It would be great, but who knows, you never know."

But Kim said there is hope of a follow-up, adding: "For the other two films we were literally the last to know. The films made money so that's always a good sign."

Sex and the City ran as a TV series from 1998 until 2004. It was followed by two spin-off movies, one in 2008 and another two years later.

Kim was also asked if she's come to terms with the fact that she will always be know as Samantha Jones from the hit TV series.

"I just loved playing her, she was so courageous and the thing I love about her the most was that she was not judgmental and she'd always come up with a positive way of looking at life," she said. "With all four characters we were breaking new ground for women in a very original way."
