The former X Factor winner unveiled the new track today, which is her first release since her 2014 single, 'Where Do Hearts Go'.
Speaking to the Official Charts Company, Alex said: "Since the last album, a lot has changed in my life, but most importantly I have changed. I'm in a great place, healthier and stronger than ever.
"I feel as an artist it's important for one's music to grow with them. I'm now 26 and having taken time out of the musical ring, I now have the gloves firmly back on. My music, my rules."
'Renegade' is taken from Alex's six track EP of the same name, which is due for release on 27 April.
A statement reads: "Stronger than ever, the Islington born star steps into new urban territory and brings unexpected hip-hop flows and a fearless approach to her latest project. This is Alexandra Burke as you have never heard her before."
Aside from working on her new EP, Alex commanded the stage as Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard last year, and she also reprises her role on 'The Bodyguard Tour'.
Alexandra has released two studio albums, two EPs and has achieved six UK Top 10 singles, three of which were Number Ones.
