TOWIE's Mario Falcone and girlfriend Emma McVey are very much together despite him saying on last night's episode that they're on a break.

Essex star Mario shared a picture of Emma to his Twitter page on Sunday, 22 March, saying: "Off for a late Sunday lunch with this beauty."

That was in contrast to what viewers heard on the most recent episode of TOWIE, where he text friend Tommy Mallet and said: "Alright mate, looks like I'm single again. Want to hook up later for a catch up?"

He later told Tommy: "I wouldn't say we're over, I would say we're on a break. It is what it is."

Mario also told pal Lauren Pope: "I'm on a break with Emma now. We've had our problems and I think a little bit of time apart will help us establish where we are."

Well, it seems that place is very much together!

And when someone asked via Twitter if Mario and Emma were back on, Mario cryptically replied: "It's never been off."

Viewers knew something hadn't been right between Mario and Emma since last week, when Mario said on camera: "At the minute me and Emma are going through a really bad phase. It's nothing to do with Chloe L, it's just been an ongoing thing for a little while.

"It just hasn't been working out. We've been arguing a lot."

There were then suggestions Mario was quite interested in TOWIE newcomer Chloe Lewis, after he was seen getting all shy while talking to her at the gym.

Mario was said to have been interested in Chloe Lewis. He says not true.

On last night's episode, however, he appeared to suggest that wasn't the case.

Meanwhile, model Emma appeared in the first episode of the current series of TOWIE but hasn't been seen on camera since.

She recently clarified: "For all the articles saying, 'I went on the show and won't be going on again because of Twitter trolls' should maybe ask me first.

"I said no to going on the show from the start. I agreed to do an appearance for Mario and his birthday. I never once said I would go on as a character.

"I have my own career. I have said no to numerous interviews because I don't want to be involved. I guess people can't accept that and have to still drag me into it."
