Former EastEnders actor Ben Hardy has said Hollywood is "not as glamorous" as he first thought.

Ben has landed a key role in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie, but it seems like he's soon-to-be new surrondings aren't too different from the fictional Albert Square.

He told The Sun: "LA is big, although Hollywood's not as glamorous as I thought, it's kind of grungy. It's not too much of a leap from EastEnders in that sense."

Ben will be working alongside A-list stars Jennifer Lawrence and Micheale Fassbender in the new action movie, which is scheduled for release in 2016.

Speaking about his new role, Ben said: "It was a long old process. It was tough going, so when I got the part it was a huge relief."

Ben is best known for playing Peter Beale in the primetime BBC Soap. He first appeared as Ian's son Peter in June, taking over from actor Thomas Law.

Some of Ben's storylines as Peter include the death of his sister Lucy, as well as his romance with Lola Pearce and Lauren Branning.
