Fans of the Channel 4 series will know Jay Makin as the guy who sits in silence while Eve and her parents chat about TV shows and the like. In fact, we don't think we've ever heard him utter one word on the show.
Sadly, Jay, 22, and Eve, 20, have now ended their romance.
A heartbroken Jay told The Sun he was "gutted" about the split, which was initiated by Eve, and he's in for a super awkward time as he has to keep filming the rest of the series alongside Eve and her parents.
"The producers told us we would have to muddle through until the end of the series. They say they'll try to make everything as painless as possible," he explained.
"The running joke is that I never say anything – so they say it won't be a problem."
Eve also confirmed the split to the newspaper, while a rep for Channel 4 said the break up had been "amicable" and everyone would continue to film together.
Jay added: "It is such a shame. I wish we could work it out."
Last year, Eve's mum Viv spoke about Jay in an interview with The Mirror, saying: "He's not a very vocal person anyway, he tends to watch the TV in his own little world. I think he was a bit camera shy on the first couple of episodes and didn't say anything, then people caught on, so now I think he thinks he might as well stick with it.
"He's become a legend in his own lunchtime!"
Meanwhile, in other Gogglebox news, it emerged earlier this month that the programme has one very big fan: Russell Crowe.
The Gladiator star tweeted on 4 March: "The joys of Gogglebox. My first time. What a hoot."
