Model Emma hit out at Mario on Twitter following last night's episode of the ITVBe reality show saying he "almost fooled" her.
During Sunday night's show viewers watched Mario tell co-star Ferne McCann that his relationship with Emma was "complicated", but he said they were still together, insisting, "I'm not single".
While talking in a florist, Mario revealed: "It's just complicated at the minute. I don't know, there's still more to talk about me and her, and sort of establish where exactly we are."
When Ferne asked if it was okay to set Mario up with newcomer Chloe Lewis, Mario said: "You can't set me up with her yet. She's a very pretty girl there's no denying that. She would be my type, yeah. He [Jake Hall] should be counting his lucky stars that I'm not single because I will crack on with the ex."
Straight after the scene aired Mario shared a photo of himself and Emma, showing Mario planting a kiss on the brunette's cheeks, during which fans assumed they were still very much together.
However, minutes later, Emma's tweet suggested she was far from happy with her Italian tailor boyfriend.
She wrote: "Yes @Mario_Falcone did meet me straight after that scene with @fernemccann Be happy with your Essex girl I'm far too good for that."
And, hinting that their romance is over, Emma added: "You slate your friends for disrespecting people for air time. Wow @Mario_Falcone you almost fooled me."
Soon after, Mario deleted the photo posted to Instagram. Reveal have contacted Mario's rep for comment.
Emma's tweets follow on from last week when she hit out at Ferne for suggesting her relationship with Mario was "on the rocks".
In a previous episode, Ferne revealed her intentions to set up Mario with Chloe, implying that Mario was back on the market. Emma blasted Ferne via Twitter, saying: "No my relationship was not on the rocks, Thanks Ferne. Really nice girl you are."
Ferne replied: "Before tweeting and going in on me please talk to your man before blaming me."
Mario did not publicly address the comments.
Then, last week, Emma clarified why she has only appeared on one episode of TOWIE. She tweeted: "For all the articles saying, 'I went on the show and won't be going on again because of Twitter trolls' should maybe ask me first.
"I said no to going on the show from the start. I agreed to do an appearance for Mario and his birthday. I never once said I would go on as a character.
"I have my own career. I have said no to numerous interviews because I don't want to be involved. I guess people can't accept that and have to still drag me into it."
