Yesterday it was revealed that Sam has been offered a lead role in a "very big" US movie.
The casting news was announced by his manager, who kept fans on the edge of their seats by keeping his actual role under wraps.
Since the announcement, speculation has been rife over who Sam will play, especially because he told fans that he was hitting the gym for his new role.
However, Sam firmly quashed the Spiderman rumour, telling fans that he hasn't been lined up for the superhero role.
Sam tweeted fans earlier today: "I google Spiderman everyday. To all of a sudden be rumoured in connection is a fanboys' dream. But it's not true."
It has since been reported that Sam is in negotiations to star in horror movie Leatherface, a prequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The Wrap reports that Sam is being lined up to play Jackson, the teenager who grows up to be Leatherface.
Sam previously played Johnny Carter in the BBC One soap and viewers watched Johnny's exit in December, as he waved goodbye to his family in Walford to go travelling.
