TOWIE's Debbie Douglas has said it will be difficult not seeing James 'Arg' Argent as much anymore, but says it's for the best so everyone can move on with their lives.

Fans of the ITVBe show have seen Debbie's daughter Lydia upset in recent episodes over her mum's continued friendship with ex-boyfriend Arg, who has just returned to the show.

Debbie talks to Arg on the last episode of the show.

Arg was suspended from filming last year after his partying got out of control, but after a stint in rehab he has cleaned up his behaviour and is looking healthier and happier than ever.

In Sunday night's episode of the show, we saw Lydia telling her mum it was difficult to know Debbie and Arg were still so close when she's trying to move on with her life. She understood Debbie viewed Arg as like a son but said Lydia should be number one, which Debbie agreed with.

Lydia also found it difficult that Arg would be saying nasty things to her and then the next day sharing tea with Debbie.

Debbie agreed to see less of Arg and insisted to Lydia that she is the most important person to her.

Speaking to the TOWIE official website, Debbie said: "Moving forward and not seeing James so often, I'm not going to lie, it will be difficult. It's not just me, it's the whole family, we're all connected."

However, she said both her family and Arg will be fine and they'll always look back fondly on past memories and experiences shared.

"You have to move on," she added. "We have to as a family and so does James. He's no longer with my daughter Lydia. He deserves to find true love and hopefully he can find a family as wonderful as us."

She cheekily added: "That will be really hard, I know! But there might be one out there!"

Lydia, meanwhile, has told the website she hopes everything can be amicable between her family and Arg going forward.

"I don't want what happened between me and my mum to put a massive awkwardness on us now," she said. "All I was saying was I didn't want them hanging out as often as they're doing because it was becoming a little bit weird."

TOWIE airs Wednesdays and Sundays at 10pm on ITVBe.
