On last night's episode of TOWIE, viewers saw Lydia and her mum Debbie Douglas patch up their differences after Lydia accused Debbie of being too close to Arg.
Lydia had felt it was all a bit awkward for her as she'd be having a fight with Arg and then the next minute Arg would be having tea with Debbie.
She said Debbie and Arg's continued friendship had caused rows between herself and her mum.
That all meant when Arg spied Lydia, Debbie, Jess and Carol Wright having coffee together yesterday, instead of greeting them, he simply waved and carried on his way.
Lydia told the official TOWIE website: "It was a little bit weird, James not coming in and saying hello to us all. We're not all strangers. I don't want what happened between me and my mum to put a massive awkwardness on us now.
"All I was saying was I didn't want them hanging out as often as they're doing because it was becoming a little bit weird."
She did say, however, that it was probably because Arg didn't want to cause any more rifts between herself and Debbie.
Last night, we saw Debbie assuring Lydia that she was the most important person in her life and later telling Arg that their continued friendship needed to cool down as Lydia was her focus.
"I have to look at boundaries and the lines I have to draw," she said. "I don't want you to have any more problems or need me or Lydia anymore."
Debbie told Arg how proud she is of what he's achieved after turning his life around. Last year, he was suspended from filming because of excessive partying, prompting him to check into rehab to clean up his behaviour.
She also told Arg to remember how much Lydia has supported him and cared for him.
TOWIE airs Wednesdays and Sundays at 10pm on ITVBe.
