It had been alleged by The Sun on Sunday that Dan was "verbally abusive" to the mother of his one-year-old son Teddy during a phone call reportedly placed last year.
However, a police spokesperson has told MailOnline: "A 23-year-old man from Barking will face no further police action in relation to this matter.'
Dan and Megan split ahead of the birth of Teddy in December 2014.
Essex reality star Dan went on to rekindle his romance with EastEnders' Jacqueline Jossa and they are now parents to daughter Ella, born February 2015.
Dan has not commented on any of the reports so far.
Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend Megan has told The Mirror that she did not leak the audio tape, adding: "I've had a lot of support from family and friends. It is a private situation. I've got family and friends who are probably trying to defend me but what's been written hasn't come from me.
"If I was going to ruin it [his relationship] I would have come out a long time ago."
Dan had stopped filming TOWIE while the allegation was investigated, with a rep telling us: "We are speaking to Dan about this incident and, in the meantime, he is not filming."
A source added that the word "suspension" had not been used.
According to BBC News, the reality star hadn't been scheduled to film much this week because he's focusing on spending time with Jacqueline and baby Ella.
