Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson spoke about new music as they graced the red carpet at the awards ceremony, which was held at London's O2 Arena.
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, the girls said their new album, which is due out later this year, will be a risk.
"It's scary because we've never done this style before," they said, "But we're excited because it's a new lane, a new year and we're feeling very positive.
"We just want it to be perfect."
The girls' last release was their 2013 album Salute, so it's been a long time coming!
Salute, which spawned the singles 'Move' and 'Little Me', reached number four in the UK music charts. Meanwhile, their debut album DNA peaked at number three on the charts in 2012.
Little Mix won series eight of The X Factor in 2011 and went on to achieve record-breaking success in the States after signing a US record deal with Columbia Records.
In July last year, the girls announced plans to put their first US tour on hold to focus on their third album.
