It will be new mum Christina's first big acting role since giving birth to her daughter last year.

She previously starred in the 2010 film Burlesque with Cher.

Christina will play Jade St John, who arrives in Nashville for a two-night stand at the Bridgestone. While her music label want her to remain mainstream, Jade dreams of making a country album...

She will appear in several episodes of the award-winning drama opposite fellow mummy Hayden Panettiere, who recently gave birth too.

Christina has also been working on her upcoming eighth album, and has confirmed a collaboration with fellow Voice coach Pharrell Williams.

The singer welcomed daughter Summer Rain in August 2014 with her fiancé Matt Rutler. She is already mummy to son Max, from a previous marriage to Jason Bratman.

She recently opened up about motherhood, saying: "I want her to be surrounded by love and grow up feeling safe. That's something I didn't have when I was young and something I have been very vocal about providing for my children."
