The 24-year-old Voice UK coach admits that her new material will be a step up from her 2012 album Ora.
Speaking in the March issue of Nylon magazine, Rita said she was "so hyped" when she signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation record label, but she soon began to realise that people were "actually interested" in her as a person.
The popstar, who plays Christian Grey's sister Mia in Fifty Shades of Grey, said: "It's like, 'Yeah, I grew up and I looked at my arse, and it got a bit bigger and I'm sexier now.' Might as well flaunt it! I feel more womanly."
Speaking about what fans can expect from the album, she said: "I wanted the album to be dark and sexy, but still approachable, because I'm not a dark person."
Rita has already released 'I Will Never Let You Down' from the album, which was produced by her now ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris.
Fans of Rita can currently watch her giving critique to singing hopefuls on The Voice UK. And the star will soon be on the big screen in Fifty Shades when it hits cinemas on 14 February.
Next week, Rita will step on stage at the Oscars to perform 'Grateful', which appears in the film Beyond the Lights.
