Charlotte's Good Morning Britain co-presenter Susanna Reid tweeted: "Congratulations to our beautiful @CharlotteHawkns who's given birth to a mini-Charlotte."

Charlotte's maternity leave from GMB began on Thursday, 22 January, where she was sent off in style by her colleagues. They presented her with balloons and a nappy-shaped cake on air.

The star had chosen not to learn her baby's sex ahead of the birth, prompting colleagues to guess away. Doctor Hilary predicted a boy because of Charlotte's neat bump. Wrong! Laura Tobin, meanwhile, did the ring test and correctly guessed girl!

Laura explained: You tie the mother-to-be's wedding ring on a piece of string and you hang it over the baby bump. If it spins in a circle it's going to be a girl and if it swings backwards and forwards it's going to be a boy."

Charlotte - who announced her pregnancy in August - told viewers: "I just want to say thanks so much to all you [to the team] and and all of you [the viewers] for the good wishes that you've sent me," said Charlotte. "I'll be back before you know it honestly!"
