The singer had a lot to live up to with memories of Beyonce's Half-Time Show still vivid but she certainly gave it all she had at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday (1 February).
Katy kicked things off in grand style, arriving in the stadium on top of a massive animatronic metal tiger while belting out her smash hit 'Roar'. Next, she slipped into 'Dark Horse', complete with a stage full of rather creepy looking dancers clad in head-to-silver.
The atmosphere in the stadium hit fever pitch when guest star Lenny Kravitz arrived on stage next, joining Katy for a rendition of her breakthrough song 'I Kissed A Girl', giving it an edgy, rock twist.
While Lenny finished off the track, Katy slipped away for her first costume change of the night, reappearing in a flirty latex dress to sing 'Teenage Dream', complete with a weird/wonderful backdrop of dancing surf boards, beach balls, palm trees and sharks.
Next up was 'California Gurls' before Missy Elliott burst onto stage with an incredible medley of 'Get Your Freak On', 'Work It' and 'Lose Control'. After slipping into costume number three, an oversized shirt, Katy was back on stage bouncing along beside Missy and encouraging everyone to 'Holler'.
Finally, it was time for the finale, and much like Beyonce did with 'Halo', Katy chose to wind things down with her anthemic and inspiring track 'Firework'.
Clad in a gorgeous gown, she was strapped to a platform which rose high above the field as Katy belted out her last song of the nigh and fireworks exploded overhead.
We're already wondering who will be doing the Half-Time show next year!
