Viewers last night saw Keith have a rough day in the house, after coming to blows with Katie Hopkins and being put up for eviction after face-to-face nominations.
As the episode went on, Keith appeared more and more miserable before eventually bursting into tears while talking to Big Brother.
Struggling to speak, he said: "I've been very lucky over the years that the public have been really good to me and forgiven me for a lot of stupid thing i've done. I really appreciate that."
After having to pause while he composed himself, Keith added: "If people do pick up the phone I'll be so chuffed. It would be really good to know people out there are....voting for me."
Since the emotional scenes were played out, Keith - or Cheggers as he is lovingly know - has received support from a host of famous faces.
Inspirational star Katie Piper tweeted: "I need to give Keith a hug #CBB." Celebrity Juice star Keith Lemon told his followers: "Poor Cheggers. Top bloke."
Meanwhile, TOWIE's Lauren Pope posted a picture of a sobbing emoticon on her Twitter feed, adding: "Poor Keith."
And Coronation Street actress Samia Ghadie went one stage further, tweeting: "#cheggers is the nicest person in the #CBB house by far.. @keithchegwin to win."
Cheggers' day got off to a bad start after Perez Hilton sparked a confrontation between the British TV star and Katie Hopkins.
After hearing that Katie had said he was playing a game, Keith lost his temper and told her: "I'm not playing a game, I've come into this house to enjoy myself and be nice to everybody.
"Unfortunately, you might not be able to do that but I can. Hopefully I've done that successfully."
Later in the show, the housemates were gathered together for face-to-face nominations.
Unsurprisingly, Keith received a nomination from Katie H, but also from Cami Li, Kavana, Michelle Visage and Calum Best.
He now faces the public vote alongside Perez, Nadia Sawalha and Katie H.
When asked how he felt about being put up for eviction, Keith told Big Brother: "It's no problem at all and is all part and parcel of Big Brother.
"It's quite tough to have people you know and hopefully made friends with to nominate you. But they've said some quite constructive things really. Whatever way it goes, I'll be happy."
