ITV announced the casting news today and Lucy has already filmed her first scenes on the Corrie cobbles.
Playing Sarah-Louise Platt's 14-year-old daughter, this will be Lucy's first TV role.
The 19-year-old said: "Walking onto the set was surreal and nerve wracking but everyone has been really welcoming and I am thrilled to have been given this great opportunity."
In the first photo of Lucy, she can be seen posing on set alongside Helen Worth (who plays Bethany's grandmother Gail McIntyre) and Jack P. Shepherd (who plays Bethany's uncle David).
Bethany will be on screen in late March when she arrives in Weatherfield from Milan following a huge fallout with her mum Sarah.
And Sarah - who will be played by returning star Tina O'Brien - will arrive a week later, determined to drag her daughter kicking and screaming back to Italy.
However, Sarah and Bethany will end up staying in Weatherfield when things don't go to plan, and we're told to expect "fireworks" in the coming months as Gail struggles to cope with her family's secrets and lies.
Lucy has landed the stint as teenager Bethany after Nottingham actress Katie was axed following revelations she lied about her age.
Katie was originally cast as Bethany two weeks ago but eagle-eyed soap fans spotted online profiles describing the actress as 25, and not 19, as it was previously believed.
Corrie investigated the claims and soon after announced they would recast the role.
Soon to be 26, Katie would have been 11 years older than her on-screen character, and just six years younger than Tina.
Since then, Katie's agent admitted that the agency's decision not to reveal Katie's real age at the time of her audition "backfired horrifically". But her agent also claimed Katie never felt right about the job, saying: "She said it felt wrong, even when she got it."
