TOWIE star Charlie Sims has confirmed he will be returning to the show next series, after taking some time out recently.

In November, Charlie revealed he had taken a break from TOWIE.

But now back and raring to go, the reality star told Reveal he is looking forward to stepping back in front of the cameras again.

Speaking at the National Television Awards last night alongside girlfriend Ferne McCann, Charlie announced he will be making a return onto our screens.

At the time of Charlie's break, a TOWIE rep said he had left to focus on his deli in Brentwood, but a source told Reveal he actually wanted to get some distance from Ferne and sister Chloe Sims' feuding.

Addressing his absence, Charlie admitted it was both of those reasons that pushed him to taking some time out.

"I felt it was needed because of the stuff that was going on in my life at the time," he said. "I had a lot of work on too so it was nice to step out and focus on my business.

"It's been nice to have a little break, but it's also good to be back!"

Meanwhile, Charlie's other half Ferne said she was excited for the new series of TOWIE, even though she is still not on speaking terms with two of her co-stars.

While Ferne has been keeping her distance from Chloe since their fallout, she admitted she still hasn't spoken to Gemma Collins either, after the girls came to blows during the TOWIE Christmas special.

She said: "We haven't spoken since she told me I needed a bag of morals on the Christmas special, so it could be interesting if I bump into her. At the moment I keep missing her. Essex is a big place. It's easily done."

Luckily for Ferne, she managed to avoid an awkward encounter with her co-star on the NTAs red carpet.

Instead, Gemma was busy cosying up to Jake Quickenden as she reunited with her jungle pals to support I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
