Yesterday, Dermot clarified comments made in a previous interview, saying he would still love to present the show but would understand if show bosses decided they wanted a "fresh face".
Now speaking to BBC Newsbeat, 41-year-old Dermot, said: "Emma is a good friend and if I was ever not going to do the job I couldn't think of anyone better to do it than her."
Dermot has been presenting the ITV talent show for eight years after takingover from Kate Thornton in 2007.
While Dermot is yet to sign a new deal - as discussions don't take place until next month - he has no plans to quit the show just yet.
Emma is a TV favourite and is the main presenter of Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother and spin-off show Bit On The Side. Emma also co-hosts BBC talent show The Voice UK alongside Marvin Humes.
In the spring, Emma will also present new Saturday night entertainment show, Prized Apart, alongside Reggie Yates. Well, it looks like Emma is in demand!
