Lord Alan Sugar's show The Apprentice was hoping to win to two gongs at the National Television Awards tonight - but he is no longer feeling confident.

Not only was Shugs nominated for Best TV Judge, the BBC One reality show is also in the running to win the prize for Skills Challenge Show.

However, judging by his latest tweets, Lord Sugar doesn't think he will be walking away with either titles.

Taking to Twitter this afternoon, Lord Sugar told his followers: "NTAs tonight, I'm nominated for Best TV Judge. As it's an ITV award I've got about as much chance as Spurs winning Premier League."

Not missing an opportunity to make a dig at long-term rival Piers Morgan, he then added: "NTA tonight, Apprentice nominated. As it's an ITV award it's got about as much chance as @piersmorgan buying a round."

In the Best TV Judge category, Lord Sugar faced competition in the long list from the likes of Simon Cowell and David Walliams. However, it already appears he hasn't made the short list.... Has no one told him?
Meanwhile, the good news is that The Apprentice has made the Skills Challenge Show shortlist and is up against The Great British Bake Off, Come Dine With Me and Masterchef.

Voting has now closed, but find out who walks away with the gong tonight when the NTAs air live on ITV1!
