Danny, who plays ladies' man Mark 'Dodger' Savage, spoke about his character on BBC's Radio 1 Breakfast Show along with Nikki Sanderson this morning.
As fans of the soap will know, Danny has left the Channel 4 soap having filmed his final scenes late December, but viewers can currently watch the build up of Dodger's exit on screen.
While speaking to host Nick Grimshaw, Danny revealed that he doesn't enjoy watching scenes back.
"I can't stand it," he said. "You do want to see it back to see how what you did ended up, but I don't think anyone can really enjoy it, can they? Not on the show, I'm sure the people can enjoy the show!"
Aside from being the village heartthrob, Dodger has romanced the ladies and been involved in very complicated love triangles, shocking family discoveries and brutal encounters.
"He's a ridiculous… It's an incestuous mess," said Danny.
"It's a challenge to try and justify it but then people ask you 'Why did you leave?' What else is there to do?! How much more can someone go through?! I think that's it. That's pretty much it!"
Heartthrob Danny, who is bowing out of Hollyoaks after nearly four years, continued: "Every time I think insane I'm sure Bryan Kirkwood, our producer, just laughs.
"It is quite fun and you want to get stuck into something quite crazy and you get that chance, but then it's the justifying that is the challenge and it's really sad but I completely believe in Dodger Savage!"
He added: "You do live two alternate lives for as long as you're there."
Dodger's final storyline focuses on who his heart lies with, as his girlfriend Maxine Minniver, ex-lover Theresa McQueen and twin sister Sienna Blake have all been fighting for his affections.
