Baywatch actor Jeremy was removed from the Channel 5 show following the shocking incident on the weekend and yesterday accepted a police caution for common assault.
Speaking out for the first time, the American has apologised for the "silly, childish, drunken joke" and said he hopes the 21-year-old Ex On The Beach star can still be "his friend".
Jeremy, 34, tearfully told The Sun today: "I never meant to cause any heartache or distress. That was the last thing I wanted. I feel terrible."
Over the years, Jeremy has battled with an addiction to alcohol and had downed a combination of wine, vodka, rum and gin on the night in question.
However, after being sober for 14 years and appearing on US TV show Celebrity Rehab With Dr Drew, he insists he no longer has a problem and told the newspaper he practises "controlled drinking".
Meanwhile, yesterday fellow housemate Ken Morley was also removed from the CBB house after upsetting both fellow contestants and viewers with his behaviour.
The former Coronation Street star had already been warned about his language, deemed racist and sexist, and was booted out in the morning after using the word "negro" for a second time while speaking to Keith Chegwin about boxer Frank Bruno.
As a result of both Ken's and Jeremy's departures, a new housemate is rumoured to be joining the CBB house in tonight's show. The planned live eviction has been cancelled.
