Sixteen-year-old Emilie performed for coaches Rita Ora, Sir Tom Jones, Ricky Wilson and will.i.am on the blind audition episode that kicked off the fourth series but, sadly, she did not make it through to the next round.
Supportive Sam was quick to tweet to Emilie: "Well done chick. You have all the time in the world to achieve your dream!! It took me 20 years!! Keep going babe x."
Emilie replied: "Aw, thank you Sam! I was so nervous :( Hahaha I will get there! I'm so determined, it's all I want more than anything!"
Sam responded: "Get out there and gig as much as possible!! Nerves are normal, you just need to learn how to control them! Good luck!"
Mum-of-three Sam won the tenth series of X Factor under the guidance of Sharon Osbourne in 2013 so she is fully aware of the pressures of reality shows and what it takes to succeed.
Emilie performed 'Clarity' on the weekend's first Blind Auditions episode but none of the four coaches turned their chair around.
Her proud Corrie star mum Kym Marsh was cheering on from backstage and looked visibly upset when Emilie failed to get through to the next round.
Sir Tom Jones, on seeing Emilie, said: "I made a mistake here… I can't criticise you because I don't think there is anything to criticise. It was all there. You sounded lovely, on reflection I should have hit my button so I'm sorry about that."
Ricky Wilson said he'd pressed his button but too late for it to count as he had a "seed of doubt" about her and he couldn't understand why.
