British-born actress Emily told ITV's This Morning that she was thrilled to get the chance to work with Meryl again, following their successful collaboration on the fab fashion film.
"It doesn't mean I'm any less in awe!" said Emily.
"I still get so much inspiration from her. I've known her now for almost ten years and she's become such a friend to me and has been so wonderful to me in this business."
Into The Woods is a fairytale fantasy inspired by tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Rapunzel.
Emily admitted she was slightly nervous about the singing element of her role in the movie, based on the Broadway musical.
"It's not all singing, but there is lots of singing! It never was a natural fit for me to sing in front of people - I've always loved singing - I just find it difficult to sing in front of people. I think that's why people are drunk on karaoke because that's maybe the only way to get through it!"
We're sure plenty of people agree!
Into The Woods is released 9 January.
