Rita Ora on joining The Voice UK 2015: "I found my balls!"

Rita Ora is the latest addition to the coaching panel for The Voice UK 2015, but the singer has admitted she had her doubts about joining the show.

Last year, it was confirmed that Rita had replaced Kylie Minogue as the new coach on the BBC singing contest - not without a little persuading from her pal will.i.am, it seems.

But, what finally made her say yes? "I found my balls," Rita joked.

Speaking at The Voice UK 2015 launch yesterday, Rita told Reveal she was pleased she had made the decision to join the show, despite her earlier reservations.

"I'm happy I made this choice, it's amazing," she said. "When I first thought about doing it, it's something that I had to speak to Will about first as I wasn't sure I wanted to take that pressure on and be responsible."

She added: "But then, I said to myself, if I can find it in me to help someone then I want that, I want to do that because somebody did that for me.

At 24, Rita is the youngest of the four coaches - made up of Sir Tom Jones, Will and the Kaiser Chief's Ricky Wilson - but she doesn't think that will hinder her when it comes to winning over this year's hopefuls.

"It's nice to have that insight from someone my age," she claimed. "Especially for all the female singers that come on the show, even the male singers too. It's good to have somebody from all aspects of the spectrum giving you advice."

Rita turned to Will for advice when it came to deciding whether she would join The Voice last year.

As fans of the show eagerly wait to see Rita's debut when The Voice returns this Saturday (10 January), the 'Never Let You Down' singer insisted viewers can expect her to be nothing but herself.

She said: "Joining this TV show, I have to come to the reality that I have to be an open book for the public, opinions are going to come out - that's already happened, but this is going to be ten times more.

"People only see pictures of me and my music videos, maybe a few interviews now and again. Me on camera, that's just how I really am. I couldn't be someone else, doing that eight hours a day filming I'd get exhausted."

When asked if she'd be following how fans react to her as a coach on Twitter, the blonde beauty admitted she'd be "lying if she said no".

"Any time I go on [Twitter] there's the good and then there's always the bad," she continued. "I tend to blank out what I don't want and take in what I want to keep."

Meanwhile it's a busy year for Rita as not only will she be on our TV screens every Saturday night, she is also starring in the much anticipated movie Fifty Shades of Grey out next month.

Revealing what else she has in store, she said: "There's a few movies, the new album, new clothing line, Rimmel, perfume... basically just hurry up 2015."

Phew! That is one jam-packed schedule.

The Voice UK returns this Saturday 10 January on BBC One.
