Michelle plays Tracy, a receptionist at a northern motor showroom, who is a party girl at heart and dreams of living the life of luxury. Tracy is joined by her partner-in-crime Viv (played by Cherrelle Skeet), but the synopsis asks: "What extremes will they go to to achieve their fantasies?"

Michelle stars in a BBC preview clip, which highlights shows scheduled to air in 2015.

While not much is given away, Michelle's character appears to be a fun-loving one, as she excitedly jumps in the pool with her arms up in the air.

Set on the shop floor and in the offices of the car showroom, Ordinary Lies will follow an ordinary group of colleagues and friends, and explore how a simple lie can spiral out of control and change a life forever.

Michelle, who is engaged to former TOWIE star Mark Wright, stars alongside Max Beesley, Jason Manford, Jo Joyner, Sally Lindsay and Mackenzie Crook.

This marks Michelle's first acting job since she quit Corrie as feisty young barmaid Tina McIntyre early last year - six years after playing the role.

Producer, Tom Sherry, said: "Ordinary Lies is full of gripping suspense as well as dark humour and should have audiences shouting 'don't do it!' at the screen, yet also laughing along with them.

"Danny Brocklehurst's writing is so clever because all the characters feel like friends and you can't help but root for them, despite their sometimes ludicrous choices."
