The Mean Girls star has revealed she picked up the Chikungunya virus during what should have been a paradise Christmas visit to French Polynesia.
However, she told fans she wasn't going to let her poor ill spoil what should have been the perfect end of year holiday with friends.
Two days ago, Lindsay said: "In good faith with good people, I refuse to let a virus affect my peaceful vacation. Be safe and happy on the New Year all."
Lindsay, 28, also encouraged her fans to wear bug spray while on holiday.
According to the World Health Organisation website, the Chikungunya virus is contracted by humans who have been in touch with infected mosquitoes. Symptoms can include fever, joint pain, headache, nausea, fatigue and rash.
Lindsay flew to French Polynesia with friends earlier this month, after wrapping her role in West End production Speed-The-Plow.
She has since indicated she would like to continue living in London for now, saying she has a healthier and more anonymous lifestyle in the UK than back in LA.
