Michael Bublé has spoken out about Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Mel B's recent X Factor snub, confirming that he is "not offended" by their reaction to his performance.

Canadian singer Michael surprised X Factor fans on 9 December when he appeared from behind a screen to sing a duet of 'Baby It's Cold Outside' with Idina Menzel.

However, following their performance, Mel and Cheryl were slammed by furious fans after they failed to give Michael and Idina a standing ovation - unlike Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.

One viewer blasted: "I'm sorry but who do @CherylOfficial and Mel think they are not giving Michael Buble and Idinal Menzel a standing ovation?"

But while fans were whipped into a spin, Michael, who is currently in the UK on his 'MB World Tour', was not bothered that the female judges remained in their seats.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun today, he said: "I didn't notice that Cheryl and Mel didn't stand up at the time but I heard about it after.

"It was blown out of proportion and I didn't take offence."

Although Mel did not respond to tweets about her lack of standing ovation, Cheryl did later imply to the The Mirror that her dress had made it difficult to stand.

She said: "Me and Mel were so engrossed in what was coming up, let's face it, it was Lauren Platt versus Andrea Faustini [in the sing-off].

"We applauded them but sometimes it's difficult with my dress. Sometimes you have to take beauty over disaster. Apart from that we were having a really emotional conversation."
