Lauren and William mark their 18-month anniversary

Speaking in forthcoming E! documentary Pop Innovators: Lauren Conrad, Lauren's father Jim reveals: "I know it's important for her to start a family and we're excited about that."

The show, which airs this Friday, charts Lauren's rise from school girl to reality star to fashionista and businesswoman, and features interviews from both the blonde beauty herself and her loved ones.

Opening up about her marriage, Lauren describes William as her "favourite person", adding that she is "so lucky" to have found him.

Lauren explains: "I think the nicest thing about marriage is the stability. You're saying, 'This is my favourite person, so I'm going to make them part of my family'.

"You become a team. They make you better – they are there to encourage you. I think, if you can find that in somebody, you're so lucky."

Lauren first found fame aged 17 in MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real OC before starring in spin-off show The Hills. However, it appears that latter was not the experience Lauren had initially thought it would be.

Also in the E! show, Lauren admits she found the reality series was "tough" and adds that it was a relief when she quit after five series' in 2009.
