Former Spice Girl Mel will make a cameo in the ITV soap to raise money for charity, and she takes on a very official role - Chief Operational Head of Christmas management services!
In first-look pictures, we see Mel having words with Weatherfield resident Mary Taylor (played by Patti Clare).
Mary looks a little surprised to find an unexpected visitor at her mobile home, but what plans does Mel have in store?
Looking glam in an embellished midnight blue jumpsuit, 39-year-old Mel looks ready for business as she stands on the street corner clutching a clipboard in her hand.
This isn't Mel's first time on Corrie, as she actually appeared as a checkout girl in 1993 long before she found fame in the Spice Girls!
Joining Mel in Corrie on Friday will be actor and TV presenter Warwick Davis, who plays Santa.
Commenting on his role, Warwick said: "This was my first 'Santa'. I can't say it was an ambition as I never thought of myself playing the big fella himself; I see myself as more of an elf.
"It got me thinking though, if I am Santa, how big would my elves be?"
Text Santa, which started in 2011, is a Christmas charity spectacular for ITV. The appeal show will be packed with non-stop entertainment and will include appearances from Ant & Dec, Phillip Schofield, Christine Bleakley, Paddy McGuinness and Alesha Dixon.
The Text Santa 2014 charities are as follows: Alzheimer's Society, Guide Dogs, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Teenage Cancer Trust, Together for Short Lives and WellChild.
Tune in to Text Santa at 8pm on Friday 19 December on ITV for the full Corrie sketch.
