After Pixie Lott's shock exit the weekend before, Strictly has now lost another of its favourites to win as EastEnders actor Jake was sent home from the competition last night.
After landing himself in the bottom two alongside former TOWIE star Mark, Jake missed out on a place in the final following Len Goodman's decision to save his co-star instead.
Taking to the ballroom floor, Jake and his professional partner Jeanette Manrara went head-to-head with Mark and Karen Haeur, performing their Cha Cha Cha for a second time.
And, following both dance off performances, the judging panel were torn on who to put through to next weekend's grand final.
While Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Mark and Karen, both Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli decided to vote for Jake, leaving head judge Len with the deciding vote.
Coming to his decision the 70-year-old said: "This is very difficult the Cha Cha Cha had very little Cha Cha Cha content, and the Rumba had very little Rumba content. In that respect, it's a very level playing field.
"One was totally performance driven, the other was all about artistry. And, this is for me the toughest of all... I'm going to save Mark and Karen."
Following the result, Heart FM DJ Mark looked visibly shocked to be saved by Len, with his partner Karen breaking down in tears.
Speaking to Claudia Winkleman, Mark said: "I'm extremely shocked, I thought we were going home.
"This guy next to me has impressed everybody week after week, with dances that no one would believe he would have had. Jake, you're a true mate. You always will be."
Host Tess Daley then spoke to Strictly's latest evictee Jake, commending him on his efforts in the competition.
Paying tribute to his dance partner, Janette, Jake told Tess: "It's a huge disappointment to go out at the semi-finals, but for a 42-year-old dad of two, I've never danced before, I've never had a dance lesson - this woman has worked wonders."
Joining Mark in the Strictly Come Dancing final next weekend are Caroline Flack, The Saturdays' Frankie Bridge and Blue singer Simon Webbe.
Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday 20 December at 6.30pm on BBC One.
