The singer triumphed over Fleur East in tonight's star-studded finale, walking away with the recording contract prize and a winner's single available to download tonight.
Ben was clearly stunned, saying: "Oh my God, I can't believe it! I can't believe it! Thank you so much for making my dream come true!"
"When you start, there is such amazing talent. You can never believe you'll get to this point in the competition. I can't believe it."
Fleur had been the bookies' favourite to triumph.
More than 14 million votes were cast across this series of X Factor - according to Dermot O'Leary, that's the most ever cast in a series!
Ben and Fleur were both mentored by Simon Cowell. Ultimately the night's biggest winner then!
Simon told Ben: "I could not be happier for Ben, you deserved it, you're a great guy. This is your moment, I'm so proud of you."
Both Fleur and Ben had to perform twice during this evening's finale, once with their favourite song of the series and then with their winner's single.
Ben was first to take the stage, with 'Man In The Mirror' as his song of the series. Then Fleur (unsurprisingly) chose 'Uptown Funk'.
Both contestants opted for a cover of One Republic's 'Something I Need' as their winner's single.
After being presented with a physical copy of his winner's single, Ben said: "This is incredible, I'm lost for words."
Also on tonight's finale were a slew of performances by special guests including One Direction, Sam Smith, Olly Murs and Demi Lovato.
One Direction - the biggest act to ever come out of X Factor - were joined on stage by legendary Rolling Stone Mr Wood! He played guitar during their performance of 'What Becomes of Broken Hearts?' We reckon Harry Styles was in his element!
Another X Factor success story, Olly, sang his 'Up' duet alongside Demi, who looked beautiful in a black evening gown.
Six-time Grammy nominee Sam Smith performed 'Stay With Me'
Meanwhile, poorly judge Mel B managed to return to the judging panel after skipping Saturday night's show.
Mel B was replaced by former judge Tulisa on Saturday, after medics ruled her unable to be here. It meant Tulisa stepped in to support Mel's last remaining contestant Andrea Faustini, who was eliminated that night, finishing in third place on the show.
Andrea returned to the stage tonight alongside the rest of the Top 16 - including Jake Quickenden - to open the show with a version of 'What A Feeling'.
