Ed Sheeran 'too hairy' to sing Bond theme tune

Ed Sheeran may have taken the music industry by storm this year but he's ruled himself out of singing the theme song for the new James Bond film, Spectre.

The 23-year-old, tells Reveal, despite being a huge fan of 007, he couldn't do it because his voice 'lacks balls'.

"I think the James Bond theme tune should be ballsy," he explained at the BBC Music Awards.

Ed reckons he's too hairy to sing the James Bond theme

"If I was to do it, it would sound a bit wet. Like The Hobbit song was perfect for me cos it was folky with a guitar. A hairy short man should be singing that. But I think Sam Smith would be perfect for Bond.

"I'd love to do a James Bond song but maybe in 10 years time when my balls drop!"

Ed has also been catching up with Adele about his three sold-out Wembley shows.

"I was talking to Adele about the shows. I was asking her a lot about what she was up to. It was nice to see her. She's always super friendly and nice. I'm really looking forward to seeing what she does next."

Ed won't record the next Bond theme tune

Ed, who scooped the Best British Artist at the inaugural BBC Music Awards in London's Earls Court last night, admitted it meant a lot to him because it's one of the few award ceremonies that aren't fixed.

He says: "Like most awards shows you don't know what's going to happen, whether it's rigged or not. But I won an award in the summer for a very big award show and I won it cos Pharrell didn't turn up.

'They said, 'Well, we were going to give it to him, but he's not turned up so you can have it.' I know some award shows are rigged.

"I remember the MOBO awards got in touch a couple of years ago and told me I had won two, but on the night they gave them to someone else 'cos I was on tour. God bless the MOBOs."
