I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! runner-up Jake Quickenden has admitted he was nervous about entering the jungle because he didn't think anyone would know who he was.

The 26-year-old singer was a late entrant to this year's series, flying out to Australia shortly after being eliminated from the current series of X Factor.

He finished in second place, behind Superbike champ Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty.

Now back in the UK, he told ITV's This Morning today he had been concerned about arriving in camp later than the other contestants, explaining: "They have all formed a bit of a bond and I was worried everyone would think I was someone from the crew bringing them water or something because they wouldn't know who I was!

"But Jimmy and Mel straight away put me at ease saying they'd like me on X Factor."

Jake entered the jungle alongside fellow late arrival Edwina Currie... not that he knew who she was!

"I didn't have a clue [who she was]! Still don't know who she is! I absolutely love her. She was a best mate, her and Jimmy. She is so nice. She has great banter and takes the mick out of herself. She tried to teach me politics but I wasn't having any of it."

Of course, Jake was asked about the now-infamous 'bullying' encounter with Jimmy.

Some viewers were unhappy at Jimmy when he was filmed telling Jake he didn't have a clue who he was or what his talent was or why he was even in the jungle.

Jake defended his pal, saying: "When he said it, I knew he was messing around. I was saying harsh stuff to him too, messing around. It's fine. Two seconds after that we were dressed as superheroes running around camp like idiots!

"It obviously came across a bit worse than it was. Maybe if people didn't realise what we were like... but from day one, that's what we were like."

Jake told Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden he had lost around 10kg in the jungle, which he thought was the most out of all the campmates, but he was trying to make up for it by eating everything in sight now!

"Food has never tasted so good. I haven't stopped eating. They say to build yourself back in but I didn't listen. I went straight into it."

As for the music career, Jake promised fans that he has "loads of gigs" and appearances coming up and plenty of exciting plans for the New Year.
