Strictly Come Dancing's Mark Wright has admitted he doesn't want to miss out on a spot in the show's grand final.

The former TOWIE star is currently preparing for Strictly's semi-final on Saturday night, and hoping to impress Mark has been training all hours to nail his latest routine.

With the Mirrorball trophy just within his grasp, Mark has revealed he "doesn't want to fall at the last hurdle".

Just last week, Mark told his fans his "body was in bits" after a hardcore training session, and making it through to the Strictly semi-final it seems his rehearsal hours are on the up!

Following a whole day's worth of training with his partner Karen Haeur, Mark took to Twitter yesterday to tell his followers of his competition hopes.

He tweeted: "Just arrived home after dancing all day since 9am. Sooooo tired. I just don't want to fall at the last hurdle after coming so far, so making sure I put every possible hour into the semi finals.

"To make the final would be such a shock but also the best feeling in the world."

Mark's comments come after Pixie Lott was sent home from Strictly in a shock exit.

During Sunday night's results show, Pixie found herself in the bottom two alongside Blue singer Simon Webbe - despite scoring in second place on the leaderboard.

After bagging consistently high scores throughout the competition, viewers were shocked to see the 'Break Up Song' singer in the dance off.

But while, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Pixie, Darcey Bussell and Len Goodman - who had the deciding vote - chose to send her home.

Following the result, Pixie said: "I was absolutely loving it, I had the best time ever... I have learnt so much and I am so grateful for it."

Frankie Bridge, Caroline Flack and Jake Wood will join Simon and Mark in the semi-final this weekend. Battling it out for a place in the grand final, the celebrities will perform two dances each for the judging panel.

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday 13 December at 6.50pm on BBC One.
