Speculation arose last week that judges Chez and Mel had fallen out backstage in a dramatic showdown, but Cheryl has insisted that isn't the case.
"If there was a war you would know about it!" she told Daily Star. "You would really know about it!"
Cheryl went on to admit that "there have been words" at times, but added: "We are two grown women, we both know what we're here for, we're both professional.
"It's not like we want to pull each other's weaves out or anything. We both get very passionate so it does get a bit like, 'Ahh…'but we support each other."
Cheryl has no acts left in the competition following the elimination of her last remaining contestant Lauren Platt during the weekend's semi-final, while Mel B still has Andrea Faustini in the running for the winner's crown.
Last week, the show's host Dermot O'Leary also denied things were frosty between Cheryl and Mel, insisting all was good backstage.
Dermot told the Daily Express Online: "God no! When people are honest, it's the most important thing. The important rule is you leave [the arguments] after the show."
Mel B joined the X Factor panel this year, while Cheryl returned to the show following a three-year absence.
X Factor will crown its winner this weekend on ITV.
