I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here's Michael Buerk has apologised for swearing on live TV.

Newsreader Michael was eliminated from the jungle last night (3 December) and used the word "tossers" when chatting on Good Morning Britain earlier today.

Michael said: "I thought there were likely to be quite a few tossers among the people you were banged up with, that the real difficulty would be not falling out with people who were aggravating.

"But as things turned out, and to my surprise, I rather liked them all. That was a big surprise to me and helped me get through the whole thing myself."

Susanna Reid and Ben Shepherd were quick to apologise for Michael's potty mouth - before he blamed his campmates for teaching him the word!

"I talked the Queen's English when I went in there, but every other word was a swear word from my campmates. I apologise if I went over the boundary there," he added.

Michael had also used the word when chatting to Ant and Dec following his elimination last night, however it was beyond the watershed when the programme aired.

Following his breakfast TV mishap, Michael again touched on the bad language he had picked up from his fellow celebrities during an appearance on Lorraine.

He explained: "I learnt a few things, mostly bad language, I didn't know such words existed, I've lived such an innocent life."

Meanwhile, I'm A Celebrity returns tonight and Michael's new BFF Tinchy Stryder will face a gruesome Bushtucker Trial.
