Former Hollyoaks star Gemma Merna may have left the hit soap, but she's still smiling!

Pictured in Manchester earlier today, the 30-year-old looked absolutely gorgeous as she rocked her winter warmers out in Manchester.

Promoting the Three Calendar Me App at the Three Store in the city centre, Gemma beat the chill in a cosy-looking cream jumper.

Teaming her knitwear with a plain white tee and black skinny jeans, the actress made sure to doll up her casual ensemble with a glamorous look on the beauty front.

For her make-up, Gemma opted for long mascara-clad eyelashes, blusher tinted cheeks and a pop of pink lipstick on her lips. Complementing her make-up with a perfect blowdry, Gemma showed off her recently dyed brunette locks.

Last month, Gemma switched her hair from blonde to brunette, debuting a caramel hue. But now, judging by these latest pictures, it seems the star has gone even darker with her 'do.

Gemma's appearance in Manchester comes after her final scenes on Hollyoaks aired a few weeks ago.

Her character Carmel McQueen - who she has played for eight years - died in an explosive train crash on the show. And, on seeing her emotional exit, Gemma took to Twitter to bid Hollyoaks and Carmel a final farewell.

She tweeted: "Well what an amazing last episode for #CarmelMcqueen thank you so much to @Hollyoaks @Channel4 for the past 8 years & such an amazing cast & crew.

"Will miss you guys millions thank you for everything, love you @Hollyoaks @Channel4 #EndOfTheLine #RIPCarmelMcqueen."

After announcing her decision to leave in August, Gemma spoke exclusively to Reveal, telling us she was looking forward to trying new things.

She explained: "Carmel is obviously very dear to the heart. I've played her for eight years and I've absolutely loved every minute of it but I felt that I've explored every avenue with Carmel and every storyline possible for her.

"I just wanted a new challenge. I want to go and play characters who are completely different."
