The former footballer was the first celebrity to be eliminated from the current series and has now revealed we didn't see every bit of his experience on screen…
Jimmy told The Sun that just before the Terror Tombs Bushtucker Trial – which he failed – he'd had a panic attack and fled from camp.
He explained: "I panicked and 'went into one' for ten minutes. It was totally nutty and I lost my head completely. It's crazy how mad your brain gets in there."
Jimmy continued to say he fled into the depths of the jungle ahead of the trial after hallucinating about his hunger.
"I had a black cloud over my head. I told producers, 'I have to go' and ran. They were shouting, 'Where is he going?' I was running deeper in the jungle shouting, 'I need a doctor, I need a banana or something.' I couldn't deal with it, I needed food. I even saw blokes walking past and thought about eating them."
Jimmy's panic was never shown on our screens. Instead, we saw him taking on the Terror Tombs Trial as if nothing had happened. He, and the other celebs, had to remain locked inside a dark tomb for fifteen minute while rats and other creepy crawlies ran over them.
Unfortunately for Jimmy, he couldn't last the whole 15 minutes and his team – The Wombats – lost the task.
A rep for ITV told the paper: "He had a minor wobble. But celebrities are monitored 24/7 with a medic always on standby."
Jimmy was the first celebrity to be eliminated from I'm A Celeb this series, saying his goodbyes on Monday night's episode. It was a shock to many as he had been an early favourite to win the show.
"What an experience, I'm so glad I came and did this," he told ITV's Good Morning Britain. "It was mad, a great bunch [of people] I was in [camp] with, that's what you wish for when you go in. I loved everything about it."
He's also revealed he made friends for life in the jungle, including Superbike racer Carl Foggarty, who was visibly choked up when Jimmy left.
"I nearly went myself, when he went and broke down and I was like, 'Fog don't do this to me on TV!' I just totally went. [He's a] great friend, I think I've got two friends there for life definitely and even the other seven, [I was] very close to them all and I couldn't have wished for a better bunch."
I'm A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV.
