Some fans of the ITV show have voiced concerns that journalist and broadcaster Michael is looking thin and frail following two weeks of low-calorie food in the Australian jungle.
However, his wife Christine assured Mail Online that she is not worried.
"He was quite slim when he arrived," she said. "I was trying to encourage him to build up before coming out here, which he didn't do. He's not got a lot of spare flesh on him, but he's in good shape. I think it's far, far healthier to be a little bit underweight than overweight."
Christine went on to say that she'd been "amused" by some tweets that focused on Michael's shrinking frame.
"I don't think there is a massive difference," she insisted.
