The unlikely friends were both invited to London's Bluebird Chelsea, an exclusive nightspot, as the venue was launching a new pop up Scandinavian bar for Christmas.
During the evening, the pair cosied up for a picture, which Matt later shared with his followers on Twitter. He said: "A little bit of @bluebirdchelsea for #Scandibird bumped into this crazy cat @CaseyBatchelor."
Singer Matt claimed victory in the seventh series of The X Factor and went on to land a No 1 with his debut winners' single, a cover of Biffy Clyro's 'When We Collide'.
Matt later parted ways with Sony Records and has been busy working on his fourth album since August. Matt is hoping to release it in 2015.
Meanwhile, just prior to the current series of The X Factor kicking off, Matt spoke out and gave his advice to this year's hopefuls.
"I'd tell them to enjoy every moment and be yourself," he said on Good Morning Britain. "If someone is putting up a mask on as show, it won't hold up."
Matt also warned of having to make compromises for the ITV1 singing competition - his being advised to wear a pair of lemon coloured trousers.
"You won't always wear what you want, you won't always get to sing what you want," he said.
